EveryKid is a registered charity helping disadvantaged tamariki and rangatahi across Aotearoa take part in after-school and weekend sports, music and arts. We cover memberships, lessons, uniforms and equipment so every child gets the chance to explore their interests and discover their full potential.

What we do

EveryKid works with sports clubs, schools and social workers anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand to identify tamariki and rangatahi who might not otherwise get the chance to take part in extracurricular activities.

Once a young person is referred, we work directly with their club or tutor to pay for memberships, lessons, uniforms and equipment. We pay the club or provider directly, so the money goes straight to the activity and the young person can simply turn up and join in.

EveryKid was founded in 2024 with a mission to provide opportunities in sports, music and arts to disadvantaged youth, helping them build confidence, develop skills and discover their potential.

Our goal is to help bridge the opportunity gap and empower young minds to reach their full potential.

Our impact

Not every New Zealand kid gets to take part in extracurricular activities. Extra costs are hard for many families to cover, so a large number of our tamariki and rangatahi miss out, not only on the activity itself but on the socialisation, acceptance and character building that comes with it.

Taking part in after-school and weekend activities alongside like-minded people helps steer rangatahi towards good life choices and gives them a stronger sense of self.

As a single dad, all I want is for my daughter to have all the opportunities I had growing up. But I'm not lucky enough to have the financial freedom my parents did to provide them for her. I'm so incredibly grateful that she qualifies for EveryKid funding, which makes it possible for her to learn to play tennis! Most of the kids we support are referred by the people who already know them. If you work with a young person who's missing out because of cost, let us know.

Sports clubs

Got a player who can't pay subs, or a kid who keeps turning up to watch but never signs up? Refer them and we'll pay the club directly for their membership, uniform or gear.

Who does EveryKid help?

Tamariki and rangatahi aged 5 to 16, anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand, who are missing out on sport, music, arts or other after-school and weekend activities because of cost.

What does EveryKid pay for?

Club memberships and subs, registration fees, lessons and coaching, uniforms and equipment. We pay the club, school or provider directly, so the money goes straight to the activity.

How do I refer a young person to EveryKid?

Sports clubs, schools, social workers and community agencies can use the referral form at everykid.org.nz/refer. It takes about five minutes and we only need the young person's first name, age and area. The parent or caregiver must agree to the referral first.

I'm a parent. Can I ask EveryKid for help for my child?

Talk to your child's school, club or social worker, who can refer them to us, or get in touch through our contact form and we'll talk it through with you.

Is EveryKid a registered charity?

Yes. EveryKid Charitable Trust Manatōpū is registered with Charities Services (registration number CC62148, registered in March 2024) and is an approved donee organisation with Inland Revenue.

Are donations to EveryKid tax deductible?

Yes. EveryKid is an approved donee organisation, so individuals can claim a 33⅓% tax credit from Inland Revenue on donations of $5 or more. Online donations get a tax receipt emailed automatically. Companies can generally claim donations to donee organisations as a deduction.

Can I donate to EveryKid through my pay?

Yes, if your employer offers payroll giving. You can give straight from your pay and receive the 33⅓% tax credit each payday instead of claiming it at the end of the year. Ask your payroll team to add EveryKid Charitable Trust Manatōpū.

How can my business support EveryKid?

Businesses can partner with us by providing funding, donating sports gear, music equipment or art supplies, or offering services that help us run day to day. Get in touch through our contact form.
